Jensen Selected as 2020-2021 President’s Faculty Fellow

The President’s Faculty Fellow Program is an opportunity for faculty members to contribute to the leadership of key strategic efforts of Webster University by partnering with Academic Affairs or support units. It allows faculty to work on special projects that are of particular interest and importance and that take full advantage of the unique interests, skills, and academic backgrounds of the University’s diverse faculty.  

Scott Jensen from the School of Communications has been selected as the 2020-2021 President’s Faculty Fellow. For his fellowship, Jensen will partner with the Academic Advising Center to develop an online training program for faculty advisors that reviews campus policies and programs central to helping students make progress toward their graduation. 

Additionally, Jensen will create a standardized new faculty advising orientation, and identify strategies for integrating advising faculty into critical Webster student programs and services. Jensen will coordinate with the Global Advising Council to unify advising procedures and culture across the Webster University network. 

The training program will cover information on the Global Citizenship Program, enrollment minimums for financial aid, offices and locations for academic and social support and important deadlines. In addition to the online training, Jensen will conduct several in-person training sessions for Webster faculty advisors, and design and propose assessment that reinforce faculty advising responsibilities, measuring the quality of their performance as advisors.
