Trezette Dixon

Trezette Dixon, director of the Internship Program in the School of Communications, was named as recipient of the 2023 Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship from the Society of Experiential Education (SEE). The award includes one year of membership and one complimentary conference registration with a $500 stipend to support travel to the annual SEE conference in Orlando, Florida, at the end of September. This year’s theme will be: Expanding Horizons: Inclusive Experiential Education for the Future of Work.

“I am thrilled and deeply honored to have received the 2023 SEE Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship award,” said Dixon. “I appreciate this incredible honor and the investment in my professional development journey. I look forward to the conference and other professional development opportunities this scholarship will bring – but most of all, I am excited to contribute to fostering diversity and inclusion in experiential education.”

The SEE is a nonprofit membership association of educators, businesses, and community leaders. Founded in 1971, the Society brings together educators, business, and community leaders to create and sustain a great variety of experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, micro-experiences, service learning, global experience, and more. The Society's vision is to expand the perspectives shared and voices heard throughout our growing profession so that they are representative of the practitioners and students in the field of experiential education.

“We are elated that Trezette has been selected to receive the SEE Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship award,” said Vincent C. Flewellen, associate vice president of DEI and chief diversity officer of Webster University. “Webster is a community where all people are encouraged to embrace their unique identities. Trezette has been an integral part in conveying that message and continues to lead by example. We couldn’t be more excited that she is being recognized for her efforts in cultivating a community that welcomes people of all backgrounds.”
