December 19, 2023
Webster University rose two spots on the St. Louis Business Journal’s annual “Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois' Largest College and Universities” list. This is the second year in a row that Webster has moved up on the list. Webster
University also was named as having the most popular MBA program in the St. Louis region.
"As Webster's faculty and staff have addressed the challenges to higher education head on, the results are a stronger university, " said Webster University Chancellor Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. "Webster's position in these lists is a reflection of their hard work to meet students' needs in ways that attract growing numbers of students, locally and globally."
Webster moved up three spots in the past two years. In 2022, Webster was listed as the eighth largest institution in the region. In 2021, Webster was in ninth place. The list was issued on Friday, Dec. 15.
The rise on the list this year was fueled by Webster’s record growth. This year, Webster reported a 27% increase in enrollment.
“Webster’s growth is a testament to the strength and popularity of our academic programs,” said Webster President Julian Z. Schuster. “Our enrollment grew substantially faster than most other universities in the United States, including tripling the number of international students attending Webster. Webster has beat all expectations, and we are poised to continue that growth through 2024 and beyond.”
A second list also issued on Friday by the St. Louis Business Journal that reported Webster had the most popular MBA program in the St. Louis region. According to the list, Webster had 1,284 MBA students this fall. Webster has topped the “largest MBA” programs list every year since 2015.
“Webster has a strong reputation for offering one of the best MBA programs in the region and for delivering the program in such a way as to support working adults seeking to advance their careers,” said Simone Cummings, dean of the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology. “I anticipate that the MBA program will continue to grow because of its solid curriculum and ability to provide significant value to students.”
