Faculty and staff are invited to join the Webster Staff Alliance and the Online Learning Center for an engaging webinar presentation on using growth mindset and fostering grit in higher education learning environments.
Cultivating Growth Mindset & Grit In The Online Learning Environment, presented by Innovative Educators, will provide several practical approaches to course design and assignments that can be adapted for use in a wide array of disciplines and formats, both online and in the classroom.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 2-3:00 p.m. in the Emerson Library
conference room. No registration is necessary, but attendance must be in-person. No remote broadcast
will be available.
About the webinar
Along with an increasing focus on student retention and success, concepts of grit and growth mindset have become pervasive in higher education.
What do these concepts mean? What research warrants such attention to these notions, and what does it all mean for faculty? How do these ideas translate into concrete action in the instructional setting?
