Advising Curriculum Series 'Helping Vulnerable Students' Feb. 1

The Academic Advising Center’s Undergraduate Team will sponsor its fourth Advising Curriculum Program on Friday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. CST in Room 137 of the East Academic Building or via WebEx.

Feb. 1: Helping Vulnerable Students

This session’s theme is “Helping Vulnerable Students” and will feature a panel including representatives of the Academic Resurce Center, the Online Learning Center, First Year Experience and Undergraduate Persistence, and Student Affairs as well as members of the Undergraduate Advising Team.

Through scenarios, we will present student issues and demonstrate how we can collectively help students work through the challenges that impact their education. Advisors and instructors are often the first to see students in need of support and this program will give us all a comprehensive understanding of how these various offices can help.

Previous programs in the Fall addressed “Advising Basics,” “Preparing for Spring Registration,” and “Key Academic Policies and Questions.” Building on those, this program will give advisors and our students tools and resources for their ongoing success.
