Erin Bode (BA ’03), Saint Louis-based singer/songwriter, is having a busy 2019.  Her latest album, Here and Now, is available for download and on compact Bode, who teaches lyric writing and song writing in the Department of Music’s Bachelor of Music in Composition (Songwriting) major, is also experimenting with new ways of reaching audiences in the fast-changing world of popular music and recordings.

The “Your Song” project finds Bode creating new music or recording cover tracks for individual fans. Read more about this at the Riverfront Times.

“Our songwriting major was intended from the outset to be a creative degree in music composition” says Jeffrey Carter, chair of the Department of Music in the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts.  “Erin is a perfect example of the kind of teaching artist who brings new concepts and creative approaches to our students who work with her in lyric writing and song creation. She breathes real-world knowledge and cutting-edge approaches important in this century."
