In the News: Teeter on 'Christmas Carol,' alum Broadway World profile

Teeter on Public Radio for 'Carol'

Lara TeeterLara Teeter was interviewed by St. Louis Public Radio about how the annual production of “A Christmas Carol” at the Fox took on a new look this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“A Dickens of a Tour” is not a staged production of the story. But the chance to do something — anything — like a performance at the Fox was moving.

“I got a little emotional,” Teeter said of his first visit inside the Fox since it closed in March to prevent spread of the virus at shows there. Teeter has the unusual title of artistic director of a tour.

“I said, I’m standing on a stage right now when so many of my colleagues can’t be in a theater. I’m sorry, I have to take a breath here because I’m overwhelmed,” said Teeter, who is head of the musical theater department in the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University. “I didn’t expect it, but it really hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Hodson Featured for 'Fauci' Dog

Carol Hodson's dog adoption story was profiled by the Danbury Animal Welfare Society.

Hodson teaches in Webster's Department of Art, Design, and Art History and also serves as a therapist in Webster's Student Counseling and Life Development office.

"We knew there would be another dog in our future and just as me and my daughter found each other, the right dog would find us," Hodson said. "As a mental health counselor at Webster University in St. Louis, I hoped the next member of our family would be suitable as a therapy dog."
